Jaggery is a traditional non-centrifugal unrefined sugar consumed mainly in Asia and Africa. It is a concentrated product of cane juice without separation of the molasses and crystals. It contains up to 50% sucrose, up to 20% invert sugars, and up to 20% moisture. Jaggery is a traditional sweetener in Indian subcontinent originated in India. It is more natural & healthier substitute for sugar.

Ayurveda has used jaggery to treat various ailments as it is rich in iron, vitamins and other minerals. jaggery is also rich in magnesium, potassium, manganese and zinc which it retains because it doesn’t go through extensive processing.
